Buffalo Guys and Gals Dickey e-Pattern

Here is a quick and easy-to-knit dickey suitable for both guys and gals. Using far less yardage than an entire sweater, you can still get the look of a sweater in a luxury fiber by wearing this dickey under an open-collared shirt, V or crew neck shirt.

The dickey is knitted starting with a twisted rib stitch mock turtleneck, then proceeds seamlessly to the raglan-style yoke. With the kind of attention to detail that you've come to expect in HeartStrings patterns, short row shaping is used to raise the back neckline higher than the front, thus assuring a comfortable fit that doesn't feel like it is strangling you. The front flap extension is worked flat – this additional length in front makes the dickey suitable for wearing under open-collared or V-necked shirts and blouses.
